After having read Heartless Monster I was so glad that we were getting more from this world! As soon as this second installment was announced I wanted to read it. I picked it up and got right back into the Misfits world. I enjoyed this story so much!
Catherine and Wilder’s journey drew me right in! Catherine is a teacher Willow Creek High and is in an abusivemarriage. Wilder is Catherine’s student and is into social media. The more time Catherine and Wilder are around each other, the more feelings bloom between the two. Will Wilder and Catherine give into the forbidden between despite everything? or were they doomed from the start?
From the get go, both Catherine and Wilder had my full attention! I wasn’t sure how these two would tackle everything from when it came to their feelings, Catherine’s husband, and other things in their lives. It kept me on edge waiting to see how things would all unfold.
Catherine was such a strong character. My heart broke for her and I wanted to get her away from her husband. I adored Wilder and how he was so determined to keep Catherine safe. Catherine’s strength and Wilder’s protectiveness both shined. The ways they connected got me right in the heart and their chemistry was undeniable goodness! I went through oh so many emotions while reading with both Catherine and Wilder.
From the Teacher/Student to the forbidden and all the feels, There were many aspects of this story that I so enjoyed! I was so glad to be back in the Misfits world and that I got to reunite with some familiar faces!
With Wicked Scandal, Ms.Leigh has created a great and dark read that brought such realness that had me me glued to my kindle and feeling SO much! I can’t wait to read what she brings our way next! 📱💙📚
