Winston Brothers #3
Publication Date: October 11, 2016
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Humor, Romance
Make a deal with the devil and you might get what you want, but will it be what you need?
Jennifer Sylvester wants one thing, and that one thing is NOT to be Tennessee’s reigning Banana Cake Queen. Ever the perpetual good girl and obedient daughter, Jennifer is buckling under the weight of her social media celebrity, her mother’s ambitions, and her father’s puritanical mandates. Jennifer is officially desperate.
And desperate times call for Cletus Winston.
Cletus Winston is a puzzle wrapped in a mystery covered in conundrum sauce, and now he’s in a pickle. Despite being convinced of his own omniscience, extortion by the exalted Banana Cake Queen of Green Valley has taken him completely by surprise. So… what’s a maniacal mastermind to do?
Likely, the last thing you expect.
‘Beard Science’ is the third book in the Winston Brothers series, is a full-length romantic comedy novel, and can be read as a standalone.
My Review –
5 Oh Banana Crème Puffs Stars!!
*I volunteered to review a Copy of this book from Indie Sage PR*
Thank you so very much Indie Sage PR!! I am extremely honored and grateful!! 😀
This was my second time reading Ms.Reid’s work and I absolutely loved it!! It was a total Home Run for me and I so enjoyed it!! After meeting the Winston Brother’s back In Grin and Beard It I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the next especially when I discovered what brother it was about!! At times the two main characters were so stinking cute that I couldn’t handle it!! I swear pretty much every conversation they had was priceless! I liked the fact that even though their lives were completely different they were similar in so many ways. Like how they both love to People Watch (I do too and I always try to figure out others a stories just as they did).
Beard Science is about Jennifer Sylvester who wants to be her own person without others *cough cough* her jerk parents controlling her every move and Cletus Winston who has a lot on his plate but one thing he didn’t expect was the Banana Cake Queen to have the upper hand on him. As they say expect the unexpected. I couldn’t get enough of their witty banter, how they brought out different sides to each other, and how they actually took the time to get to know one another. To describe these two characters in one word I would have to say unique.
I adored their southern sayings and how Cletus would call people like he saw them even if the observation wasn’t right at times. I loved how smart both characters were and how they connected in a way because of it. I hated Jenn’s Parents, sorry not sorry. The Winston brothers and sister owned my heart even more so with this installment!!
The South, Chemistry, Cakes, Defiance, Pain, Plans, and Hope all collide in this tale!!
Will Jennifer finally learn how to say the word no and go after what she wants? Or will she be stuck in her ways? Will Cletus really help her out? Or will he turn her back on her like so many others before? One-Click Today to find out!! I am craving sad cake and Banana Crème Puffs like crazy and I blame Ms.Reid who can feel free to send some my way!! She knows how to pull on your heart strings and make you want to smack some characters. I’m looking forward to reading the next Winston Brothers book and whatever else she comes up with next!! As Ms.Reid and these books show Tennessee seems like a crazily wonderful place that makes me want to find my own Winston Brother! If you haven’t already started these books you are missing out fellow book lover!! You won’t regret reading them!! 5 Stars all around!! 🙂
About Penny Reid
SEX! It all started with sex, between my parents. Personally I don’t like thinking about it, but whatever works for you is a-ok with me. No judgment. The sex happened in California and much of my life also occurred in that state until I moved from the land of nuts (almonds), wine, silicon… boobs, and heavy traffic to the southeast US. Like most writers I like to write, but let’s get back to sex. Eventually I married and gave birth to 2 small people-children (boy-6, girl-4 as of this writing).
By day I’m a biomedical researcher with focus on rare diseases. By night I’m a knitter, sewer, lino block carver, fabric printer, soap maker, and general crafter. By the wee hours of the morning or when I’m intoxicated I love to listen to the voices in my head and let them tell me stories. I hope you enjoy their stories.
