If she has her way…

Willa Davis is wrangling puppies when Keane Winters stalks into her pet shop with frustration in his chocolate-brown eyes and a pink bedazzled cat carrier in his hand. He needs a kitty sitter, stat. But the last thing Willa needs is to rescue a guy who doesn’t even remember her…

…He’ll get nothing but coal in his stocking.

Saddled with his great-aunt’s Feline from Hell, Keane is desperate to leave her in someone else’s capable hands. But in spite of the fact that he’s sure he’s never seen the drop-dead gorgeous pet shop owner before, she seems to be mad at him…

Unless he tempers “naughty” with a special kind of nice…

Willa can’t deny that Keane’s changed since high school: he’s less arrogant, for one thing—but he doesn’t even remember her. How can she trust him not to break her heart again? It’s time to throw a coin in the fountain, make a Christmas wish–and let the mistletoe do its work…

My Review –

4.5 Bring on the Holidays Stars!!

Thank you so very much InkSlinger PR for sending me a copy of The Trouble with Mistletoe!! I am extremely honored and grateful!! 🙂

This was my first time reading Ms.Shalvis’ work and I really enjoyed this entertaining read that left me wishing it was Christmas time! It differs from other stories that center around the holidays I found this one to have quite the magical feel with an unexpected depth to it. I’ve just always believed there’s something in the air whether it be fall or winter there’s a promise of new beginnings and this book shows just that. The Trouble with Mistletoe is about Willa and Keane two people who don’t like the fact that they were attracted to one another but as things progress some feelings can’t be fought. It’s surprising, heartwarming, very sexy, sweet, and such a joy to to read!! Ms.Shalvis created a romance that hits your heart. I couldn’t stop grinning throughout!! I look forward to picking up more Heartbreaker Bay books as soon as possible!! 🙂

Willa Davis was a character who owned a pet shop called South Bark Mutt Shop. Just as she’s closing there is a knock on the door. She never expected to bump into the man from high school she’d tried hard to forget. I adored her big group of friends and their crazy but oh so humorous banter! There was more to her than meets the eye and she had her own secrets. Willa was determined in everything she did especially when it came to caring for animals. She had a very big heart and always wanted to do things for others. I hoped in the end overcome her fears, speak of her past, and come out of it with her heart unscathed.

Keane Winters was a character that’s only focus was on his job until his aunt’s cat is dropped off for him to take care of for who knows how long. After the cat Petunia destroys many of his things he needs to go to a shop for help. The only thing he wasn’t prepared for when he got to the shop was for his eyes to be met with a pair of breathtaking green ones. He was a bit of a workaholic and I didn’t like some of his actions. I couldn’t hate him though , he was too darn sexy and actually kind. He didn’t give up even when the odds were stacked up against him which is admirable. I hoped in the end he’d be able to connect on deeper levels with others and risk falling in love.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a read that will keep you guessing and bring you so much laughter!! I want to be kissed under the Mistletoe and cuddle with baby puppies for days, haha. 🙂 It’s a perfect read for anytime of the year not just the winter months! I can’t wait to pick up the next book in the Heartbreaker Bay series called Accidentally on Purpose!! I seriously loved Elle so I’m looking forward to reading it! If you haven’t already One-Clicked Buy it Today!! Grab some hot chocolate, your favorite blanket, the best reading chair, and dive into this wonderful story!! 4.5 Stars all around!! 🙂

Excerpt –

He stilled a beat and then set the carrier down again and leaned in close to her. With one hand on the headrest at the back of her head and the other on the seat at her opposite hip, he caged her in, his face an inch from hers.

The ass. He was temptation personified and he knew it. And also, he smelled good. She had no idea how he’d managed to work all day long doing what he did and still smell amazing, but he did. She closed her eyes, making herself sit still instead of doing as she wanted—which would’ve been smushing her face into the crook of his neck and inhaling him like she was a third grader with a bottle of glue.

“You want to come upstairs, Willa?” he asked, voice pure sex.
What she wanted was to put her hands back on his chest now that she knew it was as hard as it looked. Instead she gripped either side of her seat with white knuckles. “Of course not.”

“I think you do. I think you want something else too.”

“What I want,” she said as coolly as she could, “is dinner as promised.”

“Liar,” he chided softly.

“Well that’s just rude, calling your date a liar.”

“So it is a date.” His tone was very male and very smug. It should’ve pissed her off but instead it did something hot and erotic to her insides.
Clearly knowing it, he smiled at her and then dragged his teeth over his lower lip as he contemplated her.
Gah. She wanted to do that. And she wanted to do more too. She wanted him shockingly badly and suddenly she couldn’t remember why she shouldn’t. She tried to access her though processes on the subject but her brain hiccupped and froze. Which surely was the only reason she let go of the death grip on her seat, slid her fingers into his hair, and…brushed her mouth over his.

He didn’t move, not a single muscle, but when she pulled back, his eyes had gone dark as night, piercing her with their intensity.

“Don’t read that the wrong way,” she whispered.
“Is there a wrong way to take it when a beautiful woman kisses you?”
