Excerpt –

Breck’s POV

Staring into the flames, I brooded about my uncertain future. I didn’t trust my ambivalence toward teaching because I was a master at self-sabotage. Maybe I considered this teaching experiment a failure so I had an excuse not to sign on for the next session. Then I could stick with the “I’m a ramblin’ man” warning I’d given Cres and return to the blacktop.

But I didn’t want to go back on the road. Facing miles of empty highway day after day…I knew firsthand it was as lonely as it sounded.

Loneliness hadn’t been an issue since I’d rolled into the Grade A complex. I spent my days surrounded by students and staff and my nights wrapped up in Cres.

Sexy, funny, sweet Cres.

I’d been such a fool to think I could work him out of my system. The more time we spent together the more I wanted. Yet Cres hadn’t mentioned extending our time.

Maybe because you’ve done a bang-up job convincing him of your “itchy feet.”

Only because he’d been so insistent about never getting into another serious relationship, and I didn’t want to be the pathetic hanger-on, trying to convince him that I was worth the risk to his heart, because I wasn’t sure I was.

There was some confidence. I’d gotten my mo-jo back in the arena, but I didn’t have the same certainty with Cres unless I was fucking him.

Why did this have to be so f*cked up? Why couldn’t I just tell him my feelings had changed and I needed more than “just sex?”

My Review –

5 I want my own Cowboy Stars!!

Thank you so very much InkSlinger PR for sending me a copy of Strung Up!! I am extremely honored and grateful!! 🙂

This was my second time reading Ms.James’ work and after finishing Stripped Down I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this Novella!! I was so happy to see Wyn and Mel again! I missed them! This story was off the charts sexy and so darn sweet! I swear these kind of stories make me remember why I love to read! Strung Up was about two men who have both been through so much in their lives and when their paths cross after not seeing each other for a while they can’t ignore how they feel. It was sexy as sin, funny, sweet, engaging, and heartwarming to the very end! I loved the fact that it showed characters overcoming their pasts and being stronger because of it. Ms.James once again stole my heart and created one heck of a Novella!! I can’t wait to pick up the rest of the Blacktop Cowboys books!! 🙂

Cres Grant was a character that was a Rancher. When he lost the man he loved he shut out the world and found solace in the numbness of heartache. When his brother Wyn drags him out of the house for an event he never expects to see Breck the man he’d shared a passionate week with years before. My heart broke for Cres and I hated the struggle he went through when he tried to move forward. I loved the relationship he had with his family especially his two brothers Wyn and Sutton. I liked the fact that he was brazen. In the end I hoped he’d take a chance on love and not feel guilty because of it.

Breck Christianson was a character that was a rodeo cowboy. After the media tarnished his name and his career went down the drain he was trying his best to find some sense of normalcy. With his past memories haunting him daily it was easier said than done. He wasn’t proud of the man he was before. When he locks eyes with Cres the one man he could never forget after not seeing him in forever he plans on showing him he’s a better man. I hated what he went through in his past and how he had reminders of it that he couldn’t get rid of. I liked that he was the total alpha with a big heart. I hoped in the end he could move forward and fall in love as well.

I highly recommend this Novella to anyone looking for a read that will tug on your heartstrings and keep you grinning from ear to ear. Do you ever get the urge to just hug a book to your chest because you adored it so much and it meant a lot to you? Well in this case I hugged my Kindle but its still the same thing to me. That thunderstorm scene has to be one of if not the most sexiest scene ever created and I’m still blushing days later because of it. Ms.James has a way of writing in such a beautiful way that even in the darkest moments of a characters life she shows there is always hope. Thank you Ms.James for not only creating two amazing characters but bringing so much happiness to me. You Rock! If you haven’t already One-Clicked Buy It Today!! I promise you that you don’t want to miss this remarkable story!! 5 Stars all around!! 🙂

From Lorelei: “Why do I have a particular fondness for all things western? Well, I’m a fourth generation South Dakotan, living in the Black Hills, which is chock-full of interesting characters, including cowboys, Indians, ranchers, and bikers. The geographical diversity of the surrounding area showcases mountains, plains, and badlands. Living in and writing about rural settings gives me a unique perspective, especially since I’m not writing historical westerns. Through my fictional world, I can show the ideals and the cowboy way of life are still very much alive.”
