Just Friends by Monica Murphy
Release Date: September 13th, 2016
Genre: New Adult Romance
It’s the end of summer. Just before I start senior year with my two best friends in the whole world. Dustin and Emily are everything to me. We’ve been inseparable since middle school, and when we’re together, nothing can go wrong.
But things aren’t always what they seem. Em’s turned into a drunken mess who parties too much. Dustin and I have hooked up a few times―and now he’s ready to take our relationship to the next level. Yet I’m not sure I want things to change. I’m scared if I take it any further with Dustin, our friendship will be ruined forever. Then there’s Ryan. The new guy. He’s hot. He flirts way too much. And Em has totally set her sights on him.
So when my best friend betrays me in the worst possible way, guess who’s there to help me pick up the pieces of my broken heart? Ryan. But he’s so confusing. Annoying. Sweet. Sexy. I want to trust him, yet he makes it so hard. What I really want is for everything to go back to the way it was before.
Before I found out that best friends make the worst kind of enemies.
My Review –
4.5 High School just got more complicated Stars!!
Thank you Ms.Murphy and Social Butterfly PR for sending me a copy of Just Friends!! I am extremely honored and grateful!! 🙂
Having read Ms.Murphy’s work before I couldn’t help but be excited to pick this book up!! High school, drama, relationship, friendships, lies, and secrets this story has it all! I haven’t read a YA book in a long time but this one made me remember why I loved them in the first place. At times I got frustrated with the characters and their actions. I liked the fact that it showed the good, the bad, and the ugly when it comes to not only life as a teenager but high school in general. At times I felt like I could picture the characters clearly and see it all unfolding as if I was in high school again.
Just Friends is about Olivia and her two best friends Em and Dustin as well as the new guy Ryan. Friendships are put to the test. Lies cut deeper than every before. The lines between friendship and love are blurred at times. With more and more surprises arising daily high school becomes even more chaotic than before. Ms.Murphy creates a great story where drama becomes the norm and attraction is hard to deny. This book was different and a breath of fresh air to me. It made me remember how crazy life can be as a Teenager. After that ending I can’t wait for the second book in the Friends Series More Than Friends and in the meantime I can’t wait to read what Ms.Murphy comes up with next!! 🙂
