Love can be a beautiful thing.
It can fill up your life with the warmth of its embrace and spread to every corner of your mind.
It can quiet your soul.
But when that love turns wrong, it warps into something bitter and unrecognizable.
The pain of it promises unyielding noise in place of that half-remembered silence.
Lexie has lived with this pain for four years, pouring it into music that transformed Unquiet Mind into the most famous rock band in the world.
But fame can also turn ugly, twist into that bitter version of love and endanger everything Lexie holds dear.
The moment Lexie’s life is threatened, he comes back to ensure she stays breathing.
He’s not just back to save her life, he’s back to save her soul and to claim what’s his.
Problem is, someone else already considers Lexie his, and he’ll kill to make sure she stays that way.
My Review –
4.5 To The Moon Stars!
Thank you so very much Give Me Books Promotions for sending me a copy of Skeletons of Us!! I am honored and grateful!! 🙂
After that shocking ending in Echoes of Silence I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Skeletons of Us!! I didn’t expect it to be so action-packed and terrifying all at once. I liked diving back into this world where music, pain, fear, and love collide!! It was heartbreaking, scary, hilarious, sexy, and intense! Lexi and Killian’s story was far from a fairy tale but it was raw and consuming. My heart ached throughout reading and I was on the edge of my seat to find out what would happen next. Ms.Malcom created a story where silence can be peaceful as well as deafening. I absolutely loved this tale of two broken souls going through hell and back to not only live but love. I can’t wait to read more of Ms.Malcom’s work!! 🙂
Time can go by but feelings can remain. . .
Lexie Williams was a character who was the lead singer for rock band Unquiet Mind. Having had her heart shattered to smithereens years before she’s still trying to find a way to breathe without feeling empty inside. She was living her dream but the light had faded from her life. When her safety is threatened more than once she tries her best to stay calm but coming face to face with the only man who meant anything doesn’t help matters. I hated the pain that she went through and how she struggled during certain points. Her passion for music was admirable and I adored the connection she had with her/others lyrics. I absolutely loved that her friendships with her bandmates Sam, Noah, and Wyatt were stronger than ever. Also, I loved her Mom and Zane too. I hoped in the end she would find her happiness and not let fear control her.
Killian Decesare was a character that was a member of The Sons of Templar MC. Doing what he thought was right he let go of the woman who owned him body and soul. Hurt and Sadness led him to having a taste for blood. Ruthless was his middle name. He never thought one phone call would change his world forever. This time when he came face to face with the woman of his dreams he was determined not to mess up. How things left off in the last book I couldn’t help but have a strong hatred for him. My mind changed though as I delved deeper into the story and his thoughts. I liked the fact that he would say what was on his mind without a care. I loved the relationships he had with his brothers from the club especially Zane! I hoped that in the end he’d reaveal the truth of his actions and redeem himself.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who has read book one which is Echoes of Silence!! Due to this being a sequel I tried my best to keep my review as vague as possible without giving anything away. Skeletons of Us shows how demons can come to life in the form of people and decisions. Ms.Malcom’s dedication brought tears to my eyes. I would love to see the rest of the band get their very own books especially Sam (Love that crazy dude) ! The cover is so haunting and brings certain points of the story to life in my eyes. If you haven’t already One-Clicked both Unquiet Mind Books Buy them Today!! You won’t regret it!! 4.5 Stars all around!! 🙂
Anne Malcom has been an avid reader since before she can remember, her mother responsible for her book addiction. It started with magical journeys into the world of Hogwarts and Middle Earth; then as she grew up her reading tastes grew with her. Her obsession with books and romance novels in particular gave Anne the opportunity to find another passion, writing. Finding writing about alpha males and happily ever afters more fun than reading about them, Anne is not about to stop any time soon.Raised in small town New Zealand, Anne had a truly special childhood, growing up in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. She has backpacked across Europe, ridden camels in the Sahara, eaten her way through Italy, and had all sorts of crazy adventures. For now, she’s back at home in New Zealand and quite happy. But who knows when the travel bug will bite her again?
