Title: Until Harry
Author: L.A. Casey
Genre: Contemporary, Romance, New Adult
Publisher: Montlake Romance
Release Date: July 19
Like nothing you have ever read from L.A. Casey before, a story of loss, love, and finding yourself in the darkest of times.
He was my best friend, my best not-really-big-brother and my best protector. He was my best everything. He was mine.
Coming home is hard for Lane. Hard because Harry, her beloved uncle, has died suddenly, but also because of him. Kale.
Kale Hunt has been her best friend since childhood. But it was never that simple. He was Lane’s reason for leaving home and moving to New York. Seeing him with someone else, in love with someone else, shouldn’t have hurt. But it did. It really, really did. So she upped sticks and left, started a new life and cut herself off from her past.
But now she’s back and all the feelings are right there. As if she had never left.
Emotions are running high for everyone, and tragedy has a funny way of bringing people together. But is Lane reading the signs right? Are they still just friends, or is there something more?
My Review –
4.5 Realistic and Emotional Stars!!
Thank you so very much Love Affair With Fiction for sending me a copy of Until Harry!! I am honored and grateful!! 🙂
For the longest time I have been meaning to pick up Ms.Casey’s work and i am so happy that i finally had the chance to! Until Harry is a story that sheds light on the important things in life and how unspoken words can change everything. It showed how it takes stepping back and examining your own life at times to make the best decisions. I liked that it went back and forth between past and present. There were so many emotions I went through during this book that I just could not contain. It was beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, and frustrating all mixed into one. I liked that it was realistic in the sense that it showed the highs and lows people go through which I found to be relatable. Ms.Casey created a rollercoaster ride of a story that I won’t forget anytime soon. I can’t wait to read more of her work!! 🙂
Lane Edwards was a character who tried her best to escape her painful past by moving to New York and becoming a freelance editor. Getting the news of her Uncle Harry passing away shatters her. Returning back home to attend his funeral she knew she’d have to face the music which was that of her family and her Best Friend Kale. I adored her job and how much she liked to read!! At times I couldn’t help but want to shake some sense into. Some of her actions surprised me and her feelings were understandable. It was nice to see her grow as a character during the flashbacks to the past and how she was in the present. I enjoyed her quick wit, humor, and kindness. No matter what she went through with her family her love for them never diminished. It warmed my heart when her brothers Lochlan and Layton were protective of her. During the beginning I couldn’t help but be an emotional wreck as I read what she went through during the loss of her Uncle. Her Nanny cracked me up!
It was nice to see how Lane’s friendship with Kale Hunt came about and how time changes things. I could have smacked Kale a bunch throughout and some of the things he did angered me to no end. There was more to him than I thought and i was thrilled that my opinion of him as a character changed. Just as Lane did he had secrets of his own as well and to say I was shocked when I discovered both of theirs would be an understatement. In the end I hoped that they’d both be happy without memories haunting them and that they’d figure everything out.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a read that will keep you entertained , break your heart, and make you want to always be truthful about feelings. Anytime a character deals with a passing of a loved one it makes me very sad and I couldn’t stop the tears from falling as I read what the heroine was going through. Life is full of surprises not all of them good but ones that lead you to where you need to be even if you don’t fully understand it and that was shown clearly in Until Harry. I wouldn’t mind reading this one again just to experience every raw detail. If you haven’t already One-Clicked Buy it Today!! I hope you like it and are sure you have tissues in hand for those sad moments. 4.5 Stars all around!! 🙂
I pushed my glasses up the bridge of my nose as I reread the letter from my brother for the millionth time since I received it two days ago. It stated two things. One, my uncle passed away. My godfather and dear friend was gone. And two, I had to go home.
I wasn’t jumping for joy about either fact.
I looked up from the worn paper Lochlan’s letter was scribbled upon and gazed out the window of the train I was sitting inside.
The Yorkshire’s countryside passed me by, and in seconds I was lost in the green beauty of it. Unfortunately, the glamour of the never-ending dreamlike view wasn’t enough to mask the pain in my chest. The horrendous agony quickly brought me back to the present, and it screamed that I couldn’t run from it.
Not this time, Lane, a sour voice in my mind hissed. You can’t escape this.
Nothing beautiful to the naked eye or soothing to the delicate ear could erase the inevitable reality I would soon have to face head on. I shifted in my seat as my stomach roiled at the thought of what the next few days entailed.
Why did this have to happen? I glumly wondered.
