My Review

5 Beautifully Colorful Stars!!

Thank you so very much Southern Belle Promotions for sending me a copy of The Color of Us!! I’m very honored and grateful!! 🙂

This was my first time reading Ms.Ward’s and Ms.Manzari’s work and I loved every emotional second of it!! I am such a huge fan of when two authors combine forces to create one story and this one did not disappoint!! It wasn’t just a story about loss and love but a story about finding light when the darkness threatens to take over. I’m still an emotional wreck after finishing this story and I don’t think I’ll ever forget it. It’s beautiful, heartbreaking, sweet, intense, and eye opening all at the same time. The story of Alexis and Liam isn’t always a happy one but it’s one that’s worth the reading journey. Ms.Ward and Ms.Manzari truly blew me away with this book! I am looking forward to not only picking up The Pledge soon but their future work as well!! 🙂

Alexis Sinclair was a character who was trying to find out how to live life again after losing someone she loved dearly. Driving was something she feared and wasn’t her strong suit nor was taking risks but a chance meeting with a bad boy changed everything. She was such a sweet and caring character. The way she always wanted to help others even in her fragile state made her so selfless. Some of the decisions she made frustrated me even though I knew why she did in some ways. Everything she went through made her a stronger heroine in my opinion. My heart shattered for her throughout and I wished I could have given her a hug. I loved her friendships with Stacy, Taren, and Julie. In the end I hoped she’d got after the things she wanted and fight for her happiness.

Liam O’Connell was a character who had secrets and a past he’d rather forget. The girl who looked like an angel shouldn’t have been on his radar but he was never on to follow the rules. He was so much more than a bad boy and had a bigger heart than most. Even though he could have used a slap to the face a time or two he never annoyed me whatsoever. His strong will was something quite admirable. I adored his humor and his sexy side. He wanted more out of life and was determined to make something out of himself. While reading his point of view I couldn’t help but feel a strong connection to him and the love I had for his character never faded away. In the end I crossed my fingers that everything turned out great for him.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a read that is deep and deals with subjects that many can relate to. It’s a story that’s realistic and pulled on every single one of my heart strings. Loss is always something that is hard for me to read about but The Color of Us handles it in one of the best ways I’ve ever seen in a book. This story not only made me realize that I should wake up everyday and live in honor of my loved ones memories but be grateful always to have known them. I can’t imagine how hard of a story that this one was to write for both authors but I am so happy that they shared it with not only me but the entire world. I cannot thank them enough. Also, I wish I was Liam’s Angel and I’ll always think of Lex when I see a rainbow. If you haven’t already One-Clicked Buy it Today! You are missing out if you don’t! I hope it touches your heart like it did mine. 5 Stars all around!! 🙂

The Pledge (College Bound #1) – Released July 27, 2015

Taren needs a do-over. She’s decided the best way to put the high school bullies behind her is to pledge a Taylor-Swift-lip-syncing, beer-guzzling, sorority. Sisterhood helps Taren find the acceptance she’s always craved, but not the love she needs.

Alec wants freedom. To escape his father’s iron fist and unrealistic expectations, he pledges a campus acrobatics club where he finds that drugs and alcohol aren’t the only ways to get high. His addiction to danger helps him gain his independence, but it comes at a heavy price.

When the two cross paths, Alec fears his undeniable attraction to the party girl just might threaten everything he’s worked so hard to earn. Taren hasn’t forgotten that Alec humiliated her back in high school, but she also can’t deny the chemistry they share.

Alec and Taren have nothing in common, but fate is bound and determined to bring them together. They know falling in love is a risk, and yet it’s too hard to ignore. When their worlds clash and they both end up suffering, will they fight to stay together? Or are some pledges too hard to keep?

Laura Ward lives in Maryland with her loud and very loving three children and husband. She married her college sweetheart and is endlessly grateful for the support he has given her through all their years together, and especially toward her goal of writing books. When not picking up toy trucks, driving to lacrosse practice, or checking spelling homework, Laura is writing or reading romance novels. Her debut novel, NOT YET, is a Top 100 Amazon Bestseller.
The first thing Christine does when she’s getting ready to read a book is to crack the spine in at least five places. She wholeheartedly believes there is no place as comfy as the pages of a well-worn book. She’s addicted to buying books, reading books, and writing books. Books, books, books. She also has a weakness for adventure, inappropriate humor, and coke (the caffeinated, bubbly kind). Christine is from Forest Hill, Maryland where she lives with her husband, three kids, and her library of ugly spine books.
