Everyone loves a good love story. The stories that make you feel warm all over. The kind that leaves you the slightest bit envious because the story belongs to someone else and not you. The stories that make your heart race and on the edge of pain and pleasure. Pain because your heart hurts and pleasure because your heart hurts. An unlikely combination, yet, that’s the stuff good love stories are made of.
Ours could have been like that. We could have made a beautiful love story.
But when he was ready for that epic love story, I was afraid to fall in love, too hurt by my past to trust anyone. Then, when I was ready for the epic love story, he was gone.
And I was alone.
And the only thing I got was the pain.
It was time I told him the things that were in my heart but too afraid to say out loud.
I wrote the letter I needed to write and prayed it wasn’t too late.
You were right. I was wrong. I’ve never been more wrong in my life.
There – I said it.
I’ll say it a million times if you just come back to me.
Come back to me. Please!
I was so wrong. I do love you.
My Review :
Thank you so very much Indie Sage PR for sending me a copy of Back to Yesterday! I’m very honored and grateful! 🙂
5 I’m still crying Stars!!
This was my first time reading Ms.Sparkman’s work and she did NOT disappoint! I swear this is a love story for the ages and it’s beautiful in every single possible way. I actually think this is my first type of Military romance that takes place years ago and it was so refreshing. It went back and forth to past to present and I was taken by surprise with how easily I started adoring this book. It was heartbreaking, sweet, beautiful, and engaging. It wasn’t always a happy story nor was it sad all of the time but it was realistic in a way I’ve never experienced while reading a story.
I felt as if I was truly getting an inside look at a real love between two people and that my fellow book lover is why my heart is still warmed by its words with tears that are still in my eyes. Ms.Sparkman you created such an amazing book when you created Back to Yesterday and I would give everything in my power to see it become a movie because Sophie and Charlie deserve that. I’m looking forward to picking up more of her work as soon as possible!
Sophie McCormick was a character who had her heart broken by a man she loved when she was young and that heartache lingered into the present. I adored her friendship with Elizabeth and her relationship with her parents. She could be so stubborn at times and closed off. I hoped as things progressed she would be able to truly come to terms with what she was feeling and not push Charlie away.
Charlie Hudson was a character who was a pilot and after an accident he didn’t know what he’d do next as began to feel better. My heart broke for him for what he had to endure throughout his job. The way he treated Sophie and spoke to her left me a swooning mess.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a read that will make you rethink everything you ever knew about love and make you realize the type that is worth fighting for. I used to write letters to friends and how Sophie and Charlie wrote to each other made me miss that deeply. There is something so powerful about putting pen to paper and pouring out your soul for someone else to read. I will be telling others about this book always. I definitely need to purchase a physical copy for my book shelf! If you haven’t already One-Clicked Buy it Today! You won’t regret it!! 5 Stars all around! 🙂
About Pamela Sparkman
I grew up in Alabama and have always been an avid reader. The older I got the more in love with books I became. So, I’m admitting that I am sort of a nerd. The only reading I don’t like are those math word problems. And I’m okay with that because no one has ever asked me in real life… “If I give you two bananas and take away six apples, how long will it take the southbound train to collide with the northbound train if Johnny left his house at midnight?” It just doesn’t happen.
So, yeah, books are my thing. Oh and music. All kinds. Love it!
