Corin Connelly left her past far behind her in New York City. Along with her mother and an ex-boyfriend who had no plans to let her go. Starting over in college in California seemed like a vacation in paradise compared to her old life, and if anyone needs a fresh start, it’s her. But her new roommate has a life-threatening secret, and soon paradise becomes even more intense than New York. When she loses a bet to the university soccer team’s star goalie, Skylar Martin, he claims a prize she didn’t ever plan to give him.

A weekend in her hometown.

Skylar Martin is used to getting what he wants. Growing up in a world of privilege has made his life easy, which is exactly how he likes his women. But when a feisty redhead tells him no, he becomes determined to figure out what makes her tick. And what she’s hiding.

Spending a weekend together will change everything they think they know about each other. The closer they become, the harder it is to hide the mistakes they thought they’d left behind–mistakes that will stand in the way of what they both want.

Corin and Skylar will have to stop hiding from the darkness in their pasts if they want a bright future together. But how can you love someone if you can’t forgive them?

My Review :

Thank you so very much TRSOR Promotions for sending me a copy of Give Me You!! I am so very honored and grateful! 🙂

5 Extremely Profound Stars!!

Many times when i ask for book recommendations Ms.Quinn’s books always pop up. I’ve had many of her novels on my wishlist for awhile now but when i read the blurb for Give Me You i knew that it would be the one i would start off with! So when i saw this pop up on my Kindle earlier on today i dove right in and didn’t turn back. From the Prologue to the very end i was hooked! This story wasn’t always a happy one but it was deep and realistic to the point that i think other readers like myself will find refreshing. My heart broke various times while reading and i cried as well.

Don’t be mistaken though it’s filled with humor, sexy as sin moments, and sweetness in which made me smile. At certain points i wish i could have made the two main characters open their eyes more but as i said before things took time and in my opinion that made the story awe-inspiring! Yes, I’m still angry at myself for not having picked up Ms.Quinn’s work sooner! I’m definitely reading Keep Me Still next! 🙂

CorinConnelly was a character that had endured enough horrific things to last her a lifetime. Escaping from the place that caused her so much torment and daily reminders she fled to California to start College. She was quite witty when she spoke and the fierce protectiveness she had for those closest to her such as her best friend Layla was commendable. My heart shattered so many times after uncovering all of her secrets and i honestly just wanted to reach into my Kindle to give her a big hug.

I understood why she was closed off some of the time and i felt as if that made me become closer to her as a character. Corin is definitely one of the strongest and most bravest heroine’s I’ve ever come across. The growth of her character as things progressed amazed me in a great way. When i see butterflies from now on I’ll always remember this story and how you can find beauty as well as signs from things you least expect. All i hoped for is that she’d get her very own happily ever after because she deserved it immensely.

SkylarMartin was a character who wanted to be a professional soccer player. He was also quite the ladies man and could flirt his way into anyone’s heart. During the beginning i felt like he was too cocky and that initially made me not like him. Skylar’s childhood wasn’t always a pleasant one and like he pointed out in a chapter money can’t buy happiness only temporary things that appease a void.

The growth his character showed left me stunned because it wasn’t like one day he’s a jerk then the next he’s prince charming it took time which thrilled me. Some of his innuendos had me chuckling more times than not and i liked that he had a sense of humor. I loved how driven he was in life and that he wanted to make something of himself on his own terms. Even when i disliked him for a short period i could agree that he was one sexy hero. His friendship with his at times crazy as I’ll get out best friend Landen brought a brother-hood like bond to the story as well. I hoped that he’d find his happily ever after too in the end.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a read that’s not just raw or realistic but one that show’s struggles emotionally and in life in general. It’s probably one of the most honest stories that I’ve read in a long time in the sense that even if other characters didn’t know it i as the reader got to see the Corin and Skylar’s souls bared in ways i haven’t read before. You might want to grab a few tissues for tears, be prepared to be a swooning mess, and lastly grip your Kindle and or physical copy tightly so you can finish this roller-coaster of a story in one sitting. If this sounds like it’s up your alley One-Click it Today!! You won’t regret it! 5 Stars all around!! 🙂

Excerpt #5

Skylar’s jaw clenches and frustration rolls off of him in waves, slamming all around my tiny room with nowhere to go.

“I shouldn’t have been pressuring you, saying the things I was. After everything you’ve—”

“No. Stop.” I put my hand out and touch his arm. “Not the same thing. I get that you thought I was a good time girl—hell, I used to be—so you were trying to get in my pants. We’re attracted to each other and we flirt. Yeah, sometimes it’s a little over the top, but I’m a big girl now. I can handle it. You are nothing like—”

“I’m exactly fucking like him,” Skylar explodes upward, propelling off my bed so hard I’m scared for him. “You moved across the goddamn country to get away from guys like that, guys who only wanted one thing, only to run smack into me. And there I was at every turn trying to convince you to sleep with me.”

I shake my head but I can see that he’s beyond reach. “Still not the same, Sky. You never manipulated or threatened me or made me feel afraid. If I was any other girl, then it wouldn’t even matter.”

“Jesus Christ, Corin. Don’t make excuses for me. How do you even fucking stand me? Because right now, I honestly can’t stand myself.”

With that, Skylar bolts for the door.

“Please don’t,” I call out just before he grabs the knob. “Don’t leave, Sky. Please. I really don’t want to be alone and it’s not exactly safe for you to be walking around at night…in your underwear.”

He eyes meet mine and I can see that he’s torn. He has all this excess energy to burn and nowhere to put it. He’s angry—at me, at himself, at the situation—I can’t be sure. But it’s there, white-hot anger contorting his beautiful, usually carefree features.

“You should slap me. Or knee me in the balls. Something. I deserve some sort of punishment for how I’ve treated you.”

I bite my lip as if contemplating my options, desperate to change the heavy, depressing mood. “I could spank you. Once for each dirty thing you’ve said to me. So…a lot.”
