My Review :
Thank you so very much Indie Sage PR for sending me a copy of The Rule Book! I’m very honored and grateful!! 🙂
4.5 Rules are meant to be broken Stars!!
After seeing the “Survival Guide” i had to read this book! I mean it’s a list of rules that are so hilarious and i knew I’d be in for a treat with this book! This was my first time reading Ms.Blackwood’s work and i really adored The Rule Book! It cracked me up and i had to stifle some of my laughter just so others around me wouldn’t think i was going insane all of sudden. This book is funny, heartbreaking, and sexy in others. It’s very infuriating during certain points and i could have throat-punched a character or two.
It was a different type of romantic comedy than i’m used to which was a great change of pace. There are some twists that i didn’t see coming and the fallout’s from them stunned me. I have definitely suffered from a bad case of the Self-Awares before (If you’ve read the book you know exactly what i mean). In my opinion The Rules shown throughout the chapters really proved how you gotta break free from them at times if you want to fully live life. I can’t wait to read more of Ms.Blackwood’s books in the future!
Lainey Taylor was a character that was just trying to find a job to make money to pay for a loved ones medical bills. Her humor and determination to see the brighter side of life made her a great heroine in my opinion. She was stronger than i would’ve been for enduring harsh words from others in the workplace. The way she looked at things differently than most business wise not only showed her smarts but how much of an asset she was to Starr Media. I absolutely loved her relationship with her mom and her friendship with her best-friend / roommate Zoey! Lainey took risks and when pushed to the edge she would say exactly what was on her mind.
Brogan Starr was a character that i had a strong disdain for and his flip-flop attitude sort of ticked me off at times. I liked that he broke out of his facade and actually showed some kindness. He was also quite the charmer when he wanted to be. As the story progressed i began to like him to an extent and i think if he had his very own point of view to explain his actions i would have understood his character more.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a read that will be sure to make you burst out in laughter and grin during the light-hearted moments! It’s quite the journey of a book and i enjoyed it a bunch! You may get angry at some characters while reading but i think that’s what makes this book so great is the fact that the characters can drag that emotion out of me or you. If you haven’t already One-Clicked this book, What are you waiting for? Buy it today and find out exactly why Rules are so meant to be broken! 4.5 Stars all around!! 🙂
