TWH Synopsis

“Not everyone you love is going to leave you…but what if they do?”

For Nate Lucas, this was his reality.

When he lost her, he was left with no choice. Life was impossible in Crawley without her. He couldn’t live with all of the memories or her ghost.

He vowed to never return again.

It was business that brought him back and the chance to right a wrong, but then she needed him; his best friend’s little sister. Her life and her child’s were in danger.

It was an arrangement until it became more.

He vowed to never love again; to never allow the past a chance to repeat itself, but sometimes you’re left with no choice.

When the walls around your heart are finally breached, do you run and save yourself or stay and fight for the chance to love again?

When you lose your way, how do you find the way home?

**The Way Home is an Interconnected Standalone in The Chasing Series. Each book features a different couple.**

My Review :

Thank you so much Love Affair With Fiction for sending me an ARC of The Way Home! I’m very honored and grateful!! 🙂

5 Life is full of surprises Stars!!

This book was beyond beautiful and really makes the reader realize life is too short to not live as well as love. Ms. Oaks takes two characters that had harsh life’s and intertwined their worlds to create a story that is filled with so much hope it will stick with me for years to come. It was real and showed the true anguish of those who had lost people they held close to their hearts. The story really touched my heart and left me with many tears.

It’s really hard to slow down sometimes in our lives to step back and take a breather. The importance of living really shines through during the whole story. It makes me so happy to come across books that strengthen me with every single turn of the page and build me up with such outstanding words.

Nate Lucas was a character that i couldn’t fully grasp how i honestly felt about him at first but as the story progressed i became more connected with him. He was kind of an intimidating guy and not one to engage in conversation unless he absolutely had to. It broke my heart that because of his past he never wanted to let anyone in and the way he he sank in his misery daily was hard to read about.

I just wanted to reach into the book and hug him as well as tell him everything will get better. Nate became such a sweetheart but at the same time he was all alpha male which made me love him as a character. His relationship with Miley proved to be something that he needed tremendously. The way he treated Sierra left my heart all warm and fuzzy.

Miley Triton was a character that was fierce but had a past that still haunted her. She was very kind but could tell you off if you crossed her in some way. I liked that she was strong after everything that she had been through in her life and wanted nothing more than to make sure Nate realized he deserved happiness. Miley was a wonderful Mom to her daughter Sierra and it cracked me up how much alike the two were.

It ticked me off what some people said about her in the story.  She could have given up and thrown in the towel after everything she endured but she didn’t and that made me have a lot of respect for her as a character. The way she build others up instead of tearing them down was something inspiring to read.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a story that gives a whole new meaning to the phrase learning to live again and how opening your heart may be scary but worth it. If you haven’t already read this book what are you waiting for?!?! Go one-click this amazing story right now! I hope it touches your heart as much as it did mine! 5 Stars all around!! 🙂

The Way Home Teaser #1

TWH Excerpt

“You didn’t get too hot, did you?” she asked, her expression filled with concern.

“Nah, I’m fine,” I muttered, scratching my beard. I turned away and slammed the car’s hood down, and then I took a deep breath to try to gain control of myself.

I would not touch her.

I would not.

A soft hand landed on my shoulder at the same time a splatter of rain loudly plopped against the car’s hood. A few drops landed on my skin. It was cold, but I could have sworn I heard them sizzle since her touch had set me on fire. Need coursed through my body overriding my senses. Overhead, the clouds were heavy and dark. In the air there was the overwhelming scent of rain mixed with the sweet scent of the woman standing behind me.

I couldn’t fucking take it.

Pushed beyond my control, I spun around to face her. For the rest of my life whenever I smelled the scent of honeysuckle, I would always think of her. When her pink tongue darted out to briefly skim her lower lip, I lost all train of thought. She was teasing me. My body automatically gravitated to hers. Sultry eyes full of want stared back at me with a heat that matched my own. I reached out a hand and cupped her jaw, then slid my hand along her neck where I was able to tangle my fingers in her thick hair in order to draw her closer. My other arm encircled her waist, and I pulled her flush against me. All of that softness and those curves melding into mine turned my brain to mush.

She felt like fucking  heaven and the answer to all of my prayers.

“Nate,” she whispered, and the tortured sound of my name slipping past her lips was downright unbearable.

Somewhere in the back of my mind, there was a split second where sanity tried to return. Maybe, I should let her go. The sky chose that exact moment to open up. A torrent of summer rain washed all of that damn nonsense straight from my head. My lips crashed down onto hers, sinking into all of that sweetness. I devoured her whole. Never had anything tasted as good as the woman in my arms. She was fucking addictive.
